The Big Announcement and Future Content

For a few weeks I have been hinting or outright saying that I had a big announcement planned for this month. And, after some consideration, after notifying people in my personal and professional life, I’m finally ready to make the announcement public. At the end of August 2018 we will be moving from central New York to the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas.

For several years, the company I have been working for has been trying to relocated me. And, up until the beginning of this year I had been putting it off. After some consideration, and negotiation, we decided that it would be a good opportunity, and I committed to the relocation. This is something that we have had to keep within the family since January this year. I know a few of you realized that ‘something’ was coming, and I apologize for not being able to say anything.

Committing to a move is a big deal; doubly so when you’re moving nearly 1600 miles across the country. It goes without saying that this will disrupt my ability to produce models, or really any content for a while. That being said, I don’t plan on giving up the hobby, although the new realities of my living situation will likely require some adjustment.

My plan is to slow down on content releases for now and dole them out more slowly over the fall. I will likely stop modeling and live streaming activity mid-way through August. But, I plan to keep a kit or two around to work on during the first 30 days while we’re in temporary housing.

At this point I think it would be fair to say that the year of giants is unfortunately over. I’d like to think I would be able to setup a new paint station by the end of October, but I think that would only result in me rushing through the kits. I won’t abandon these projects, but I need to reprioritize for now. Between now and the midpoint of August I hope to finish several smaller projects; both to reduce the number of boxes being moved, and to have content to share with you all.

To the friends I have meet during the last year here in NY, I apologize for leaving so soon after meeting you all. I hope you keep the build meetings running for many years. It was great spending time with you all! I will continue to attend build meetings through August 24th.

To the soon to be friends in the DFW area, I look forward to meeting you all and joining in your building meets.

Thank you all for your understanding, this move has been looming and weighing on us for several months. It’s refreshing to finally let people know.

We have a lot of work ahead of us; so, thanks for your support.

All the best

Dan
