Review:
Here are my overall thoughts on the HG now that everything is done. The HG is a worthy incarnation of the Sinanju design. Despite the small stature of this 1/144 kit, it packs the same good looks and many of the gimmicks of it's much more expensive brother the MG. The HG Sinanju is also nearly as tall as some of the recent MG Wing kits!
There were a few rough edges we needed to polish out in the modifications section, and the sleeve detailing takes a bit of work, but it's hard to argue with the result. The Sinanju is a great example of a kit that keeps getting better as you add more work to it.
I have a few tiny gripes about the kit. Firstly the joints at the waist and hips are kind of flimsy, it's nothing that can't be fixed, but the legs can have difficulty staying in certain flying action poses. The armor on the back of the calf is problematic as well, as it can only partially open if the legs are bent at cetain angles. My last gripe is that shield to forearm connector is pretty lame, it doesn't look very good, and can't be easily modified without losing some pose-ability.
However, after building the HG Sinanju I think I might have trouble recommending the MG over the HG, sure it's bigger, but the HG is every bit as good and much cheaper!
Just for giggles here's the HG next to it's big MG daddy. (The MG has been in WIP hell since I'm waiting for parts...)
Okay so the HG can't do the 'like a boss' pose as well as the MG...
So if you have any questions that weren't covered. Or if you'd like to ask about anything else please leave a comment below.
