Hey there guys, this is Appasionata and I will be guest-blogging on this blog for the duration of the next couple of projects.
Anyways, down to the juicy stuff. In tandem with GoodGuyDan's announcement of Project Sinanju, I've decided to launch Project Unicorn! Just a simple OOB painted build of the HGUC Unicorn and HGUC Banshee Destroy modes, involving a little part swapping between the 2 kits which will result in a (what I hope to be) an original-ish rendition of the Unicorn and Banshee. I will also be entering this project into Mecha Lounge's MECHA 2012 competition. Will be hard-pressed to get these done by the end of July thats for sure!
Hey guys/gals. I’m going to try something new with this series of posts. Over the next few weeks I’m going to build a HG Sinanju from box to top coat right here on this blog. With each post I’ll show you some tips and tricks like initial building, seam removal, panel line scribing, modding, enamel washes, painting, decaling and top coating!
Feel free to follow right along with this blog, if you have this kit! Or if you have any questions about anything being covered in this blog please leave a comment below. At the end of this series I will put this HG Sinanju along with the 1/48 Sinanju head/stand up for sale on Ebay!
I decided to go with the Woolf custom color paint job after reading everyone comments. It was a very close call between the Woolf custom and G3. I think I will save the G3 color scheme for the MG Rezel.
I had some slight problems with the topcoat on the MG Exia yellowing due to a bad batch of thinner. And I did not want to throw out an otherwise good model, I decided to convert it over the Exia Repair.
One of the most common questions I get is, “Where do you buy your kits from?”. There are a lot of retailers to choose from if you’re in the US. Today I’m going to give you some insight into the shops I have used.
I’m only going to review shops I have used, and I’m going to provide information on the 3 aspects I find to be most important: Price, Customer Service and Shipping. I’ll also point out any special features the shop offers.
