HG Gundam Heavyarms
Introduction:
Like a lot of the "older" Gundam fans in the West, I've been super excited to build the TV versions Gundam Wing's Gundam cast. Heavyarms was one of my favorites, and I remember having the crappy old 'no grade' version of the kit back in 2001-2. This newly released HG is MILES ahead of the old NG and I'd immediately recommend it to anyone.
I painted this kit up for a build exchange with a buddy of mine Ryan from RBGunplaWorks. He and I each painted up a kit in our own style and then mailed them to each other. Both kits are still in the mail as of writing this, but we're both super excited to get them!
Kit Talk:
The Heavyarms is a pretty decent kit all around, but it had a few rough edges that needed refining. I fused the seamlines present on the arms and legs, added or improved some scribing detail throughout the kit, and masked and painted many of the details present throughout the design. I picked out a lot of details by hand using a brush and some silver metallic from Vallejo.
I kept the paint job pretty simple. I actually used many of the same colors from the HG Jegan Blastmaster.
Red: Nazca Flame Red
Orange: Nazca Mandarin Orange
Yellow: Gaia Sunshine Yellow & Yellow Orange
White: EX White
Gray Nazca Mechanical Heavy Surfacer
